South Korea’s popular public messenger service Kakao has four digital currencies—Kakao Paymoney, Choco, Klay, and Kakao Con.

Klay and Kakao Con are blockchain-based digital currencies. Kakao Con is a reward point when customers use Kakao Service.

Newcomers to Kakao Service can get 10 Con. When customers convert Kakao, Daum, and Melon accounts into Kakao account or when they settle music streaming Melon bills through Kakao account, they can get Kakao Con rewards.

Kakao Paymoney is a pre-paid digital currency. Choco can be used when customers buy emoticon at the Kakao Emoticon Store.

But the four digital currencies are not interchangeable to the confusion of subscribers.
