Minister of Employment and Labor, Jae-Gap Lee, announced that 138 national job competency standards (NCS) were finalized on June 12, after collecting opinions from the public, which were reviewed by NCS Quality Management Committee and Qualification Policy Council.

Accordingly, the number of NCSs developed to date has increased to 1022.

The NCS systematizes the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for job performance in order to cultivate the manpower required by industrial sites, and is used as a guide for vocational training.

The National Competency Standards (NCS) included the majority of jobs in industries that responded to the fourth industrial revolution and future job changes, such as blockchain service planning, cloud platform construction, and hydrogen fuel cell manufacturing.

Kim Min-Seok, Director of Vocational Competency Policy, Ministry of Employment and Labor, said, “This year, we will develop and improve mainly in the untact and quaternary industries to respond to changes in the industrial structure that is being reorganized after Corona 19. We will continue to improve quality in the field and manage the quality so that NCS can be appreciated in the field.”.
