The state-funded Korea Security Internet Agency (KISA) is accepting applications from blockchain developers for joint
developments.

KISA also named experts to screen the applications. Once selected, KISA would provide funds to the successful blockchain developers for joint developments.

However, KISA made it clear that blockchain developers would not be eligible for the state support once they issued initial coin offerings (ICOs).
It said blockchain is the distributed ledger technology that should not be linked with the ICOs.

But many blockchain experts said the government would face limits when it sticks to the policy of separating blockchain from cryptocurrencies.
