Outsiders may successfully hack your mobile phones, but may not hack KB accounts because KB will install blockchain-based security code in its mobile banking apps.
Even though hackers are successful in penetrating the KB security wall, they cannot gain access to the security key, the second line of defense against hackers. Without the security key, no one can withdraw money from the KB accounts. Thus it is impossible for hackers to steal your mobile accounts for taking money out of your account.
The KB Financial Group announced Monday that it acquired patents on the blockchain-based security solution technology. KB customers have no reason to replace the old app by the new app to have their account security upgraded. They can update the security code at its existing KB account app.
A KB spokesman said its latest patent would help customers easily upgrade security function without replacing the apps.
