Hyundai BS&C joined in a consortium to run the nation’s third Internet-based bank.

The IT solution provider said Tuesday that it participated in the Kiwoom Bank consortium. The consortium has filed its preliminary application to get a state license.

The consortium includes Kiwoom Bank, KEB Hana Bank, SKT, Seven Eleven, Lotte Members.

The Kimwoom Bank would go beyond banking services to provide an open digital platform for daily living. It would provide travel, health, distribution, telecommunication, Internet, and communication services.

Hyundai BS&C has expanded its focus on Internet of Things (IoT) and blockchain business. It affiliate Hdac Technology will play a key role in developing a platform for the Kiwoom Bank. Hdac Technology has devoted itself on producing a blockchain-based enterprise solution and IoT-based micropayment program.

Hyundai BS&C has also teamed up with fintech firm Hyundai Pay.
