Kakao’s blockchain subsidiary Ground X Friday opened its public test net, Baobab, and posted its position paper on the structure and goal of its platform Klaytn.

Baobab will be available to all developers and services providers for a trial operation for the next three months. Ground X will open its main net in June.

During the trial run, Ground X would upgrade its test net to help people use it efficiently, stably and quickly. Baobab enabled Klaytn users to open accounts easily as they open accounts through an email address or personal identification. So far blockchain accounts needed long character strings, which are difficult to type and memorized.

Ground X CEO Han Jae-son said, “Baobab is open only to developers and services providers.” He added, ”For the next three months, final touches would be made to ensure that its main net Klaytn would be available to people trouble-free.”

Han also cautioned people against buying fake Klay tokens. He added that Klaytn had not issued its token Klay.
