Korea’s largest telecom carrier KT unveiled its blockchain-based donation site called Give Square.

KT said donations would be used to provide Internet, communications and telecommunication, medical services and education. As the first project, it would finance the prevention of infectious diseases in Laos.

In the Laotian project, KT would use K-Token cryptocurrency, which would control and manage where and how the donation is used. All donors would monitor how and where their donations are used and who are the beneficiaries. The blockchain-based site has upgraded transparency of donation.

KT would also introduce the smart contract. Once the contract is available, people can post comments on the site for soliciting donations while donors can trace where their money is used, the KT said.
