Major chaebol to commericialize main nets this year

• South Korea’s major conglomerates, including Samsung and LG, are expected to commercialize the blockchain main net business this year.
• A few major blockchain startups have also been pushing for the development of their main nets.

Samsung SDS has already unveiled its blockchain platform NexLedger and has been running a trial operation in the EU port logistics business.

LG CNS has completed the development of its blockchain platform called Monachain. LG has been developing the e-gift card platform through a partnership with Korea’s state-funded minting company.

Korea’s first ICO project Boscoin, the Mediblock, and the ICON are separately seeking to launch main nets this year.

Many analysts agree that like Internet portals, only the most successful would dominate the blockchain main net in South Korea.
