Korea’s first cryptocurrency exchange Korbit said it received the Internet Security Management System (ISMS) certificate.

The Korea Internet Security Agency has awarded the certificate this week.

The South Korean government has mandatorily asked a cryptocurrency exchange with sales of more than 10 billion won, three-month daily average visitor of more than one million to get the certificate.

A Korbit spokesman said the certificate would bolster public confidence in the exchange. He said the exchange has undergone a thorough review of its computer system to get the certificate.

He said the certificate means the government certified the Korbit Exchange’s security system.
