Korea’s cryptocurrency exchange Pure-Bit has illegally withdrawn 40,000 Ethereum (equal to 9.8 billion won) from the accounts of investors this week.
The withdrawal scam has surprised investors who parked their money in the exchange.
Just three days ago, it publicized that investors would share profits of its exchange when they hold its PURE coins. It also promised to return trading fees to investors in the form of its Pure Coin.
Before and after the withdrawal, no official statement came out from the exchange.
A police investigation is expected to start soon. Police hunt for Pure-Bit executives will be underway.
