Korea’s second largest mobile carrier KT Friday held a blockchain training session for 41 engineers from its 24 partner companies at its office in southern Seoul.

The session, known as the KT Blockchain Boot Camp, is designed to share know-how on the latest blockchain technology with its partner companies, mostly small and medium-sized companies. These partner companies are members of the KT Blockchain Eco Alliance.

KT said It is recruiting additional partner companies. It welcomes membership applications from companies seeking to expand blockchain business or companies having blockchain solutions and ideas.

KT said the training session is expected to lower entry barriers for the blockchain industry and expand the blockchain ecosystem.

KT’s training session featured a basic concept of blockchain, KT’s blockchain platforms, blockchain applications, and blockchain network structure analysis.

A KT spokesman said KT wants to share know-how with partner companies so that Korea can become a global powerhouse in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
